Self introduction

I am a Transylvanian (Romania) musical instrument maker. I graduated the School of the Musical Instrument Factory in Szászrégen, in the city which is known both in our country and abroad as “The City of Violins” or ”The New Cremona”. At the Musical Instrument Factory in Szászrégen I soon realized that what I knew about instruments was by far not enough for a master of musical instrument making. |
In order to acquire the skills for making musical instruments on a higher level I travelled to Hungary where I met famous makers of musical instruments such as Marosvári László, who was presented The Golden Wreath Award, Temesvári Péter, Sáránszki Pál and Rácz Pál, who is a world famous master/expert of these old instruments.
I learnt a lot from Rácz Pál craftsman both in the field of instrument making and restoration of musical instruments and thanks to him I had the opportunity to get to South Korea to a musical instrument company where I taught , restored and produced musical instruments. This was the best period of my life professionally since I could pass on my knowledge and experience to others also.
The workshop
The long residence abroad, away from home made me feel homesick. After eleven and a half years I decided to move back to Transylvania and continue my work in my homeland. I founded a company and workshop in 1997 and I have been making instruments for more than a decade.
